Observation notes: It was 5:15pm in broad daylight & as I was finished tending to the freshly planted vegetable garden, I saw what I at first thought was a bird fluttering in the "Ostrich fern" patch. Upon closer inspection, to my great surprise & delight, I was met with these two Promethea Silkmoths (Callosamia prometheas), MATING BETWEEN & THRU A LEAF! A definite sense of joy arises when knowing the species, as my local area Coordinator Mr. Curtis Lehman inspected & assured MY VERY FIRST SPECIMAN THAT I SUBMITTED, BEING THIS SPECIES! (I'll never forget that)! What's better yet, that was 1 year & 1 day ago today!!! (3" inches/75mm).
