Coordinator notes: This looks most like Edith's Checkerspot. The date makes it a little too early for the Variable Checkerspot (or Anicia Checkerspot) and it has a more solid band of red instead of more separate red spots as this one has. I have found Edith's Checkerspot in Larimer County up the Laramie River north from near the top of Chambers Pass (Hwy. 14) but I'm curious to specifically know where you took the picture of this one. The dot on the map looks like its farther east, maybe north on Hwy. 285 not too far from the Wyoming border? Let me know if you can. ......butterfliesofcolorado@hotmail.com Nice Record - not photographed often.
