Coordinator notes: Upon comparison with other checkerspots, I can positively identify this as the ventral side of the Chalcedon Checkerspot. I am extremely interested in this population of checkerspots you observed, and I was wondering if you could email me at Coloradobaldinis@msn.com with more details about your sightings of this species, such as abundance, nearby vegetation, flight behavior, etc.
