Coordinator notes: This is the common Field Crescent. You can probably compare with a picture of the Painted Crescent on the BAMONA site. It is a smaller butterfly than the Field with paler color and not extensively fulvous-orange in appearance. It is found in eastern Colorado more commonly and is known only from some southwestern counties south of the San Juan Mts. west of the Divide where I have not found it but have over at Bluff, Utah in the spring.
