Observation notes: Sunning and flying under our cars and into tail pipes, (looking for a place to winter over?) cool 55 mid day shocked to see this flying. saw what i thought was a painted lady in same area couple days before found not get a close look at it, might be the same insect? not much flying buckeye others maybe three or four species on warmer day earlier. Three inches of rain two days before these photo's getting green fire in grass valley stopped less than half mile from this spot/ locals and weather channel said wind changed direction.
