Observation notes: Unusually warm summer and caterpillar was easily spotted in very dry summer conditions. Found in a fenced compound in a rural farmyard, sandy soil with low weeds including wild geranium, thistle wild grasses. The area is borderline of boreal forest, and surrounded by mostly aspen.
