Observation date: August 26, 2017
Submitted by: Manitoba Redfox
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Saw this caterpillar while walking. It was quite camouflaged on the pavement and I almost missed it. On the right of the caterpillar was a very shallow ditch with grass. Siberian elm trees and some kind of a willow tree were i the vicinity. When I bent down to photograph it, I blew on it and it immediately curled up into a 'C' formation. I observed it for quite some time, and it never straightened itself out again. I found a torn up piece of styrofoam and picked it up and placed it in the grass so it wouldn't be driven over.
