Date notes: Warm, Sunny, Summer morning: Butterflies and other insects feeding on coneflowers in suburban landscape

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I watched these 2 skippers fly and feed together on my coneflowers. They almost seemed to be dancing. They took turns flitting from flower to flower, staying together for at least 15 minutes, before they took off together. My coneflowers are in my suburban yard on a sunny summer day. First picture: I think the male is the skipper on the top, and the female appears to be more spotted. Second picture: the male is flying in from the left side, while the female is feeding on the coneflower.
