Orange-tipped oakworm moth
Anisota senatoria

Observation date: July 27, 2017
Submitted by: nlg1976
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This brightly rust colored visitor was enjoying a rest at my light trap and had wedged itself in the egg crate lined bucket. Its colorful fluffy mane and body caught my eye immediately. Very mellow and not afraid of light handling. Super hot and humid night around 11:00pm.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: I see some faint black spotting on the upperside forewings, so I believe this is female A. senatoria. SAT
