Observation notes: Behaved as if newly emerged. Saw it before on another plant, it was gently flexing its wings then and again when photographed. It began to vibrate its wings and then took off and did a couple of high circuits before landing on a tree. Monarch larvae (5th instars) had been seen around 2 weeks earlier or more, in the area where adult first seen today.
