Observation notes: This beautiful fellow was feeding mainly on verbena in my garden in Castlerock Colorado. I thought it was a hummingbird moth, but after observing the yellow bands on its body… and a little research on Google, I identified it as a Nessus Sphinx Moth! I only saw one time and although I have other hummingbird moths frequently in my garden I have never seen another Nessus. What a treat!
