Observation notes: The insect was resting on deep sand of an abandoned road adjacent to a riparian corridor (Willow Creek).

Coordinator notes: This is only the second Colorado record for this species. I've included it in Part 6 of "Butterflies of Colorado" which should be completed and published later this year. I've listed it as a "Temporary Colonist." This one is in good enough condition to look like it was not a stray. Flying early in the year, if you get back to that location now or in early August, maybe you could confirm a second flight? That would prove it to be at least a Temporary Colonist, if not a full time resident in that area. Great record! Mike
