Observation notes: 1.5" long caterpillar sighted on trunk of young maple tree in Durham, NC on Saturday, May 12th. Caterpillar remained unmoving on tree until some point Sunday night or early Monday morning. High of 66 degrees on May 12th, and high of 88 degrees on May 13th.
