Coordinator notes: Wow. this is very odd. I tend to agree with your ID; not white-checkered skipper. Along way out of its normal range, which barely includes NW NM. Our nearest other sighting is probably Catron County. not regular anywhere in NM. keep an eye out for a second flight in August or September. thanks for submitting!
