Coordinator notes: Grizzly bears congregate each summer on steep rocky slopes in Montana high country to search for Euxoa auxiliaris moths. One study of Glacier National Park grizzlies estimated that a bear could consume up to 40,000 moths a day, equal to an amazing 20,000 calories. So although small the moths pack a huge caloric punch.
