Observation Notes:
My daughter noticed these little guys clumped together on a couple greenbriar leaves while out hiking on a sunny 80 degree afternoon. We have never seen this many clumped together and wasn't for certain on what they were. Our department of agriculture identified them as the turbulent phosphila. When we would touch the leaves they would use their silk to repel down and then climb back up. Very cool and interesting find to say the least.

This butterfly behaved just like the Clouded and Orange Sulphurs, which are common here. I've never seen a Pink-edged Sulphur here, & they're supposed to be found only at higher elevations, but this one lacks the second central spot & the postmedian spots of the Clouded & Orange. Is it possible?
