Two individuals observed. The first was perched on the ground along a dry wash, the second (image # 2) on the trail; both in predominantly pinyon-juniper habit with a few Ponderosa Pines at approx. 7,150 ft. elev.

Observed at 12,441' elevation. Above treeline. Appearance seems to match field guide pictures of Rockslide Checkerspot, although it seems south of ranges shown in guide books. Did not see underside. At same location observed Anicia or Variable Checkerspot that looked considerably different than this individual.
