Observed nectaring on Horsetail Milkweed. Two Monarchs, a Reakirt's Blue, and a White-lined Sphynx were seen here as well. All were nectaring on the milkweed.

Eldorado Community Preserve, south of CR 51 (Ojo De La Vaca Road), at the end of ECIA Trail 403 in an area known as Hidden Canyon Loop at approx. 7,000 ft. elevation. This stand of Horsetail Milkweed is located behind an earthen berm in a swale (currently dry) or stock tank. The dominant plants are pinyon-juniper, Fourwing Saltbush, and grasses.
