Mostly sunny, 99F, S@5-10 33% humidity. Mainly sipping on thistle. Left repeatedly to circle yard area then returned to thistle bloom. Rather faded and worn. Males especially are seen frequently here in last month.

Observation Notes: 
Please note that Greater Fritillaries have always given me trouble due to the variable coloration by area and the simple fact that they are confusing to me period. Apologize for only a partial shot of upper side. The marginal spots on the upper forewing appear to be rather uniform, which is one characteristic of Mormon. The tannish underside silvered spots appear to have a greenish- colored extension, which can also be characteristic of Mormon. Plus, I'd call the size small for a Greater Frit.
