Observation Notes:
On a warm beautiful day me and my kids were going to ride bikes outside whenever I spotted a big green caterpillar with yellow horns/spikes on my daughters bike. I got a stick to pick it up for a closer examination, and started digging online to find out what kind of caterpillar it was. It is an imperial moth caterpillar!! I grabbed a plastic container and poked holes in the lid of the container, put some loose dirt and leaves for food! After a couple of days it started to pupate, and it was an amazing transformation! I've had it for 85 days, it is now in the pupa stage. As far as I can tell it is a female, and I'm hoping to witness the full life span of an imperial moth!!

Observation Notes:
It was a beautiful warm day outside the kids were going to ride their bikes, and I spotted a big green caterpillar with yellow horns sticking out of it head/back, on the spokes of my daughters bike. I've never seen anything like it before so I got a stick and picked it up to further inspect it alittle closer. Started doing some research and come to find out its an imperial moth. I got a plastic container, put loose dirt in it with some leaves, poked holes in the lid of the container, and hid the caterpillar in my dark closet. A couple of days passed by and I went back to check on the little fella, and it had started to pupate. It's now been 84 days of having it, and it's still a pupae. From my online research I've found out that she is a female!!! I'm just hoping to find a male for them to mate!!
