First of several Monarchs seen flying around flower beds at a local park. They strongly gravitated to the White Butterfly Bushes, but would also occasionally land on some large rose bush petals or on some Milkweed. Weather: 95 degrees, 60% humidity, sunny skies.

Seen flying in the middle of a meadow at the off-leash dog park, feeding on Plains Milkweed. Bat its wings constantly while feeding. Would feed, fly around (staying within an approximately 20' radius) and feed again. Large chunks of hind wings missing. Size: Approx. 5 - 5.5" wingspan. Weather: Extremely muggy, 86 degrees, 71% humidity, partly cloudy skies.
