Life history: Not reported. Flight: June and October-November in South Texas; March-November in Mexico. Wing span: 7/8 - 1 1/8 inches (2.2 - 2.9 cm). Caterpillar hosts: Not reported. Adult food: Not reported. Habitat: Canals in subtropical woods. Range: Honduras north to northern Mexico. A periodic stray to central and South Texas and southern Arizona. Conservation: Not necessary for rare tropical stray. NatureServe Global Status: G4 - Apparently secure globally, though it might be quite rare in parts of its range, especially at the periphery.
