Subfamily: Ennominae
Identification: Wings orange-yellow with whitish dusting, heaviest toward forewing costa. Forewing am., median, and pm. lines orangish brown. Double median line on underside of hindwing has white edging beyond it.
Wing Span: 3.3-5.2 cm.
Life History:
Flight: March-early August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Basswood, beeches, birches, maples, oaks, and other forest trees.

Range: Nova Scotia to Virginia, west to Alberta and Missouri.
