Identification: Forewing yellowish tan with heavy brown shading except toward apex and outer margin. Two even dark brown lines converge toward apex, but do not meet. Female paler brown.
Wing Span: 1.6-2.9 cm.
Life History:
Flight: June-August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Beeches, chestnuts, hickories, horn beams, oaks, and other trees and shrubs.
