Identification: Forewing pale gray with dark mottling. Diffuse black basal and anal dashes converge with black shading in median area; yellowish white patch in lower basal area conspicuous.
Wing Span: 4-4.6 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Apple, birch, cherry, hazelnut, mountain ash, and plum trees.

Range: Newfoundland to mountains of eastern Kentucky, west to Manitoba and Michigan.
