Observation notes: Initially mistaken for a juvenile humming bird (we have Humming Birds around the property) but I realized the error when I examined the HD movie I took with my Nikon L 610 and saw the proboscis. It was overcast and sunny after morning rain, and it was most active on the Buddleia (in the picture) to which it returned several times. Once it left I lost sight of it. I had never seen anything like it - we'd been looking for Bumble Bees which at the very first I thought it was until I saw the coloration.
