Hummingbird Clearwing
Hemaris thysbe

Observation notes: This beautiful mouth was drinking nectar from my flowers in my garden. I wasn't able to get a crystal clear picture as it was flying quickly from flower to flower. The day was partly cloudy, about 75 degrees with a storm moving in. I plant a lot of annuals every year (usually the same type each year) but a few new ones this year and I also planted a bunch of new perennials that I haven't planned in the past... This is the first time I've ever seen this moth... But it was drinking from the annuals that I always plant. I don't know if the new animals and perennials attracted the mouth or if I was just lucky enough to see this amazing moth!!
