Observation notes: he was flying fast,like a hummingbird and could even hover like a hummingbird.was warm and humid.It was about 8pm. He was getting something out of the flowers just like a hummingbird!!!He has a long thing coming off his head about 2 inches long that he put in the flower.

Coordinator notes: It is a nice photo of a Hyles gallii, Gallium Sphinx Moth. You saw the proboscis as it sipped nectar, just like a butterfly. Not all adult moths feed, but these do and sometimes come to our gardens. SG.
