Observation notes: This butterfly was on my wheelbarrow in the early morning. It allowed me to scoop it up and photograph. I have no idea as to what species it is. It would not open it's wings until it flew away, but it was probing my hand with the proboscis. The morning was warm, about 78F, and clear with barely any breeze. The wheelbarrow is parked next to my lawn (which is full of "weeds"). I garden with plants native to Pennsylvania, which is where I'm located.
