Observation notes: When I let the dogs out in the morning, the moth was knocked off of whatever he was on and fell onto the indoor mat. Outside temp was only about 8 degrees Celcius. That's when I took pic 1. It was slowly opening and closing its wings. I rolled up the carpet and took it outside hoping it would fly away before I left for work at 8:30am. Still on the carpet when I went to leave so I put the carpet in the sun and hoped it would warm up enough to be gone by lunch. Came home at 12:15pm - still on the carpet with its wings together. I put my hand under the carpet and tapped underneath it. It moved its wings and hopped. I tapped again and it was on the ground. That's when I took the 2nd picture. It stayed there for about a minute and then tried to fly off. After a few aborted attempts it flew away.
