Observation notes: we have monarchs in the butterfly garden year round, larva, and adults. we plant milkweed and keep it growing year round. cold days they roost near by in trees. warm days they fly. we grow lots of nectar plants also, some that bloom in every moth of the year. keeps the yard with winged visitors near round.
