Observation notes: Very active and quick moving in the low grass. The weather was a warm 80. a lot of blackberry in the area and legumes.

Coordinator notes: The only place in California for American Coppers (Lycaena phlaeas) is in the rockslide habitats above timberline in the High Sierras where these tend to be rarely seen.-Ken Davenport
