Lettered sphinx
Deidamia inscriptum

Observation date: May 05, 2014
Submitted by: Sallymander
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The caterpillar is a light shade of green, variegated with white and is slashed with a pattern of darker green shapes that resemble smaller caterpillars it has a light brown horn on its tail. I may compare it to a horned tomato worm or a humming bird moth caterpillar however the area I found it was on the bank of my driveway it seemed to have fallen from the rhododendron brush above or the trees even higher along with the 20 others I found crawling around the ground. It is voraciously hungry and thirsty.
