Coordinator notes: It is difficult to tell the difference between the mature larvae of Red-spotted Purple and Viceroy. There are subtle differences. Viceroy larvae have much larger spikes on the humps of the back. Red-spotted Purple larvae have miniature tiny spikes. The caterpillar in the photo seems to match the latter.
