Observation notes: hot day 90's very dry off shore santa winds. warm dry clear night. attracted to lights of house, may have submitted this species before or similar, 1.1/4- 1.5 inch wide maybe wider. should have backed out to get better focus, too large to use macro setting depth of field very shallow. also too windy out side to use natural lighting of sun. two hours in refrigerator and could still fly away very quickly.
