Observation notes: day temp 63-69 day time, about 1430 there were several of these flying all the time. in the meadows there were lots of violet's carpeting the ground, some of these butterfly's were quite large, some seemed the same size as painted ladies. others seemed quite a bit larger than the painted ladies. also saw metal marks, checkered white skippers , painted ladies . a fast yellow butterfly hanging around vetch. the fritillary were flying low all through the grasses in the meadows. maybe laying eggs? Landing on flowers and on grasses. partly cloudy skies, very humid due to some rain on friday night. a few puddles here and there. rolling hills and oaks. also chaparral tons of flowers. many varieties very diverse area.
