Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: spider was holding this, while i got lots of photo's of both of them. then the wind must have broken loose the butterfly. high sixties, partly cloudy. very few small butterfly's out in this area, lots of spiders in the flowers that were blooming, or lots of the flowers had spider residents. very few blooms due to lack of rain. lace pod mustard flowers even had spider on it. golden yarrow also, and white sage. and yes i gave the spider back its meal when i was done shooting photos it dropped it the first time. so i gifted it twice. also saw dusky wing's, metal mark, and pale swallow tail and one sonoran blue. not sure if numbers of butterflies are dropping due to spiders or drought or both?
