Observation notes: Moth flew in to garage as it opened and went to light. (Gently) captured in open-topped jar and released in the front yard. Flew to succulent on front porch and was there for 4-5 minutes - rapidly vibrated wings a number of times during photo taking. Then flew out of front porch once light was turned off.

Coordinator notes: Not the Cecropia silkmoth which does not normally live in CA, but a closely related species: the Ceanothus silkmoth.
