Observation notes: Warm weather during days, cold nights. Temperature at time of observation was 48F. Found on sidewalk, wings close. Slightly blowing on moth resulted in slow opening of wings. Moved moth on sheet of paper (never touched with hands) to an area with redwood trees and ivy ground cover. Moth placed in direct sunlight, wings remained fully open for the 10 minutes of observation while in sunlight.

Coordinator notes: Beautiful. This isn't a Cecropia silkmoths as they do not occur in CA, but it's a close relative: the Ceanothus silkmoth.
