Observation notes: seeking nectar during hot spell on calif coast highs have been low seventies to low eighties lows in high forties to mid fifties, this female has been seeking out milkweed by landing on various plants in the yard until it finds milkweed then it lays eggs. there is also a butterfly garden at the school near by and another park. lots of monarchs year round, today i also saw gulf fritillary and cloudless sulfur chasing each other. Found larva on cheese weed today also and monarch larva finally turned to pupa on houses wood siding. Butterfly gardens are fun, all the kids go crazy to see them flying around. plant it they will come.
