Observation notes: Eating petals of host flower, warm day we saw lots of rush milkweed in wash at least ten large mature plants. Several were blooming due probably to monsoon rains of the previous summer. this was the only larva we saw. several adult Queens, and one Monarch in flight at this location. lots of flowering golden bush for nectar and also climbing milk vine. warm day 73 1200 hrs when photo was taken, light breeze clear skys. several springs in area with native palm fan palms. coachilla fringe toed lizard preserve, palm desert. ca
