Observation notes: Grassy meadows surrounding the lake, in wet gullies on sides doc is abundant and so are the purplish coppers. getting nectar from mustard, golden rod, buckwheat and others.we must have seen hundreds. also lots of m. blues. Area has lots of deer. you may see deer skeletons, there lots of residents be aware of your surroundings, don't go at dawn and dusk or alone carry a big walking stick make lots of noise. lots of problems with human encounters in the eighties lead to the shooting of ten lions. the populations have been on a steady rise. rancho cuyamaca state park. All features protected. take only photo's leave only foot prints.
