  Sighting 939147

Observation date: June 25, 2011
Submitted by: sandyleapt
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Wet prairie. Standing in 6 to 8 inches of water when taking photo. Nice wild flowers including mallow and aster and noxious weeds including bull thistle and a hounds tongue provide nectar. Lots of puddling places at edge of prairie and lower end of corral. Found some butterflies in the woods and grass near the parking area, but they would not settle enough for me to photograph and identify.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: The Common Ringlet is limited to Alaska and NW Canada in North America. Genomics indicate california, ampelos and ochracea are conspecific but california as the oldest name has priority.
Checklist region(s): United States, Oregon, Wasco County
