Banded sphinx
Eumorpha fasciatus

Observation date: October 18, 2013
Submitted by: Seashell Mel
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: It was an overcast morning with the temperature at 68 degrees Fahrenheit. The potted plant is a Jackson plant that shares a pot with a 2 foot Plumeria tree and smaller bird of paradise plant. There was no breeze with the moth resting on the plant side that faces north. The moth was not a bit worried with me getting closer to it with each picture on my camera on my phone.
