Observation notes: I found this caterpillar, and another of the same species, along a lake bank, among the grass. When on the dirt path, it was able to move at a fast pace, almost as quickly as an ant, which I found surprising. It looked as if it knew where it was headed, toward the rocks at the lake's edge.
