Date notes: Found a western tiger swallowtail caterpillar in our yard on pavers in North of Reno,NV in golden Valley

Observation notes: he was held while we all argued that he had eyeballs and lips, we all did a lot of research, looked at him with magnifying glass and finally figured out what he was, we are age a family of 2 52 year olds, 1 54 1 72 and 1 79 and we had never seen one before.

Coordinator notes: I can narrow this down to either a Western Tiger or a Pale Swallowtail which have very similar larvae. I am changing status so a caterpillar specialist can look at it. You could rear it to an adult and then know for sure.
