Observation date: December 04, 2012

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: From a comment (Facebook's Butterflies of the Eastern United States, 9 Feb 2013 by Dr. Harry Pavulaan) regarding these individual(s): The Queen showing the upperside hindwing is NOT the Floridian subspecies, berenice. It is of the Texas subspecies, strigosus: paler brown ground color, but most of all, the grey scales along the veins of the hindwing (these two characters are diagnostic). So they must have traveled east from the interior, not up from Florida! These have been on my Flickr page and I forgot to submit the records here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rbinv/8245848646/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/rbinv/8244781291/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/rbinv/8245847946/in/photostream/
