Observation notes: This Black Witch moth was observed being chased by a butterfly around 3:30PM. It was overcast and humid. It had just finished raining. The moth perched under a large limb of a tree where he stayed for the next hour until we noticed an American Redstart (warber) notice him, try to catch him but miss. He flew around like a bat, trying out various trees, cars, and other objects as perches until he resettled on an Oak tree about eye level. Earlier, he'd perched about 30 feet above our heads.
