Observation notes: The botton of this caterpillar has, suction cup like feet 1/4" from the head and approximently 4 black cone shaped feet from the suction cup feet to the head. When interaction occurs it raises its head and extends its head from its body and seems to have small horns. This specimen was found away from any plants on my front door steps. The weather here is between 78ºf to 101ºf with a relative humidity of 60-100%. This is 45 miles south of Memphis, TN in the hills of Strayhorn, MS. Located 1/4 mile from the delta flat lands.

Coordinator notes: An Actia luna caterpillar, which has turned color, and is probably looking for a place to make its cocoon and pupate.
