Observation notes: I went outside at 10:27 in the evening to check the level of the grape jelly in our bullock's oriole feeder, and found this large moth feeding on the jelly. It was a dark night, and although I shone a flashlight on it, and snapped a number of photos using my flash, it was so intense on the jelly, that it did not move. Placing my hand across the back, I can estimate the size of the outstretched wings to be about 6". The moth was gone in the morning.
